Katherine Wilhite Powell, director of Bella Pageant Productions, born and raised in Birmingham, is a native of Calera, Alabama in Shelby County. In her early teen years, Katherine grew up in Homewood, Alabama and was associated with many local pageants in the city of Birmingham as well as Alabama's Junior Miss Pageant. As a competitor and judge, Katherine always found pageant training extremely beneficial and parallel to many of the life skills needed in college and the work place.

Katherine graduated from Samford University in 1987 with a BM in piano performance with emphasis in vocal performance then moved to Kansas City Missouri where she completed her MM in 1989 in piano performance with emphasis in vocal performance at the Conservatory of Kansas City at the University of Missouri. Shortly after completing her graduate degree. Katherine was hired as head of the piano department at the Alabama School of Fine Arts where she served as head of the piano department for ten years.

From 2000 in the present time, Katherine has been heavily involved in community theatre, private teaching, pageant adjudication, pageant and talent coaching. Katherine serves jointly with her husband, Charles at First Baptist Church of Columbiana as their music ministry and drama team since 1994. Katherine and Charles have two children, Isabella and David.
